Rothesay Public Lavatories, Bute

Rothesay public toilets detailThis remarkable building was constructed to impress the Fair Trippers from Glasgow in 1889. It had fallen into disrepair by the 1990's and its owners Argyll and Bute Council sold the building to SBPT to undertake repairs and alterations to bring the facility up to date, while retaining the historic fixtures and fittings and the feel of the Victorian lavatories.

The project restored the Gents lavatories and added new facilities for Ladies, and people with disabilities. In addition, showers and new attendants' accommodation were provided.
