Daldowie Doocot
This grade A listed doocot was threatened in its original location in Daldowie sewage works because of expansion of the plant. Its location made it inaccessible to the public and a decision was made to relocate the building to the Greenoak Community Woodland in Mount Vernon. . The Trust took on the project to move the building in 1997, the initial plan being to lift and transport the whole building intact. This proved impractical and the building was dismantled and rebuilt in a specially landscaped area of the community woodland. Funding was provided from the Landfill Tax grant scheme by Patersons of Greenoakhill and the Heritage Lottery Fund. The project was completed in 2000. This site is now managed by The Greenbelt Group who can be contacted on 0141 418 3800.
